Friday we flew from Beijing to Guangzhou. Flight time = 3 hours. Actual travel time = 9.5 hours. Ugh.
Lunch at McDonalds in the airport. Pretty much like home.
Ca’s first flight was very good, all told. I can’t imagine taking an airplane trip for the first time without anyone to explain what’s going on. She continues to astonish us with her trust, exuberance, and resilience. A tendency to carsickness carries over to the air as well, and Ca had some of that on the flight — we did have our share of turbulence. But after the near-yak experience she took a nap which was good.

Excited to fly!
Taking a nap
Look! I can push the rolling bag just like Daddy!
We praised God when all of our luggage arrived, met our guide and jumped into Friday evening rush-hour, heading to downtown Guangzhou to our hotel.
Arrived around 7:00pm, then we stayed up too late and had a spastic kiddo. Discovered that when we’re prayer-less, it’s easy to become irritated with a child who thinks games are funny 2 hours after bedtime. Isaac’s been running a low grade fever. Please pray for his healing - and that the rest of us stay healthy. Apparently crossing the border from China to Hong Kong (that we’ll do on the way home) is difficult if you have a fever.
Guangzhou is where our temporary 'son' is from.
ReplyDeleteWe will pray for Isaac.
